ThreeA Ashley Wood Evenfall Moonbase Omega Astronaut Strigoi "Johnson"

Yup, another skull head figure from 3A. I shall call him "Strigoi" from here onwards. Strigoi was actually human but was infected by some outer space bacteria and got mutated to this state. Sorry I wasn't following the story that much but that is about how Strigoi comes about.
The figure was released for pre-ordering at Bambalandstore on 21 Nov 2013 and a total of 3 versions were available then. A white suited Strigoi, an orange (torn tattered) suited and another orange (non-tattered). USD160 ea before 3AA discount. I thought I can get a non-tattered version and tear it if I wanted but I can't mend a torn suit to make it perfect again. No brainer there. Skipped the white one as I already had a White Gangsta Astronaut and also a white Lasstranaut... time to add some color.
Strigoi arrives 372 days, after pre-ordering, on 3 Dec 2014. It is a record longest ever figure to wait for receipt.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel Dead Gangsta Astronaut (White)

From ThreeA Wiki :
Dead Astronaut Gangsta is a classic Ashley Wood character who has found his way into the Adventure Kartel Universe. He was originally seen in early comics and paintings, but has also been seen in Miss and Mrs and featured on recent promotional printed material and the SD13 Dead Astronaut Gangsta t-shirt.

Now what's up with this Skeletor guy in a puffed up space suit? He is (was?) a hired mercenary doing the highest bidder's bidding with no question ask - until he gets it's prey or if it is the other way around. You wonder what good is money to a guy who are already dead (gansta astronaut). But, it is Adventure Kartel when no logic IS logic.

Story goes that the DAG was hired by Little Shadow to kill Tommy Mission as a form of "gift" for Tommy's birthday. Weird and senseless but again, it is Adventure Kartel isn't it?
Except from the comic strip :

Little Shadow said "OK! Look, my daddy gave me your number. I have a really cool job for you.", "It's kinda me and my sorta boyfriend's anniversary and I want a special gift for him. He is always going on about death and shit. Sooo I thought I would have you kill him. Great idea right? I really think I am growing as a person with this showing of affection."
DAG "You know once I start, I cannot be stopped and never fail at getting my man. You understand that right?"
Little Shadow "Um Yeah! That's why I am calling. I want Tommy dead"

Reading this stuff boggles my mind. Seems like Mr AW tried to be dark but all I get are childish juvenile material. Maybe I am shallow.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel Dead Easy Corp's Potato Commander

The first impression that I got when I first saw the promo pict of Potato Commander, the leader of Dead Easy Corp, in the official blog is that it has a sinister vibe, like how the Ku Klux Klan exude. It intrigues me a little and did made some plans to want to own it when the order starts.
Potato Commander was available for pre-ordering at Bambalandstore on Sep 13, 2013. It wasn't a regular sale figure but was dropped at random time aka secret F5drop. I managed to catch him in sight and had it in my cart... but did not check out eventually. It was US$120 (US$102 after my 3AA discount) which comes to about S$130 a piece. Not too expensive by today's standards but I'm not sure a military theme figure suits my Adventure Kartel gang. Decided to leave it and move on. It died a natural death in my cart some days later.
1 year later, ie 5 months after the Commander has shipped, one of it's clone appeared in eBay.SG. It was used for display and came with a dented box. But what attracts me to that auction was the starting BIN price. Too good to pass dented box or not. Figure is in great condition. After this little twist (and a mild turn), the Commander arrives in my house in late Sep 2014.

ThreeA Ashley Wood World War Robot WWR EVOL Marquis de Plume

Marquis de Plume was made available for pre-order at Bambalandstore on 28 Feb 2014. Apart from the pre-made Red Night JC which was ordered and shipped in 2014, Marquis came in as only the second one, ordered in 2014, that reached my doorstep 197 days later in mid Sep. (Still waiting for Evenfall Strigoi ordered back in Nov 2013!!!).
This is the 3rd incarnation of the de Plume's design and the tube connecting to back container seems to be THE design of 2014 with Kozo TK also bearing a similar design.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel KA Mumb

"5000 Years in the Making", not quite. But the Mumb (Mummies) are going in the right direction along the fable tale of Adventure Kartel which ties loosely to ancient Egyptian myth.
KA Mumbs were released on Bambalandstore on 18 Mar 2013 with 4 standard color variants namely White, Beige, Orange and Green. You buy the blind box at US$100 a pop and pray you got the color you want. Otherwise a 4 Pack is available at US$320. A more bizarre Kamo(flage) Mumb was a surprise F5 drop. There were also DIY and GID and IIRC, they are random inserted when you buy a single blind single.
I wanted just the Orange Mumb. Not gonna spend the money and to take a bet, so I skipped the whole sale altogether. Surprisingly, there are only few people selling this in the secondary market. Was tracking one until a sane price eBay.sg sale comes along and I BIN it immediately. Collected it the same day and took these shots the very night.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventures of Isobelle Squidy Fondle Miyu Juzcosplay

Squidy Miyu was a Secret Drop during Kuma Attack Pascha Bear sale on 20 Dec 2013. As with most of the secret drops, we only got a sketched drawing for a product picture and apparently, that is good enough to captivate me. I think I missed a couple of times before I finally managed to put one in the bag.
I think the concept is brilliant and I have my imagination on Miyu strolling casually down the street with the squidy tentacles dancing around her thighs. Almost perfect. And a squid could be lightish brown or pinkish. Just sweetness through and through.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel Red Night Atonement JC

Fighting JC finally gets a resculpt after 4 years after the OG first released in October 2010. Personally I like this sculpt much better than the OG. However, the new sculpted JC are not that easy to obtain. The very first colorway <Shit Got Real JC> was a BBICN Guangzhou ACG exhibition exclusive. To also let their "Legion" a chance to own this version of JC, a small quantity was released in Bambalandstore which is slightly different than the convention piece and was called <Shit Got Real Dark JC>. A chase version that was randomly inserted into the Dark JC box was later uncover as <Pale as F*ck JC> . 5 months later in Mar 2014, 3A releases the Red Night JC and claim that it is a pre-made quantity. I jumped on the opportunity to add this JC version into my collection. I have all the OG versions and really wanted to have continuity in this character - even though I wasn't too please with the price at $130 prior 3AA. The OG JC were just $80 a pop.
Nevertheless, 3A wasn't done yet. A month later in April, they released the most current version called <Custard Hair Killer JC>. Wanted to buy this too but alas! It was released unannounced and was a random drop. Perhaps I wasn't fated with this new JC and I missed every opportunity when it pops up. So it wasn't meant to be for me.
A Red Night JC will do for now until Ashley Wood decides on a Blue Moon Howling JC version hey!

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel Fighting JC Mauro

Adventure Kartel's JCs were some of the first figures I got off directly from Bambalandstore. Mauro JC was made available on 15 Oct 2010 and it was a secret drop and came packed together with a Blind Oracle Zomb thus is a twin packed set. Wasn't a 3AA yet in 2010 hence paid full MSRP of US$150 for the set. A standard Fighting JC and also a 3AA Exegesis JC were offered for standard sale on the sale date. Tracky Boss JC was a secret drop like Mauro. I managed to get each of the versions when with a couple of hours remaining for the sale, Ashley Wood decides to open up the 3AA version for non-members. A lot of money spent that October day.
All the JCs were delivered on 24 Mar 2011, 159 days after the sale. Suddenly I have 4 bearded guys in my, then, small 3A collection... deja vu on all the clonetroopers I had....

ThreeA Ashley Wood WWR Peaceday Dropcloth v1.5

After about 3 years when the first Peaceday Dropcloth were first made available (End Dec 2009), Ashley Wood finally drafted on a new Dropcloth upgrade design and version it "1.5" and was made available for order in Bambalandstore on 14 Nov 2012. The curiosity on why have a 1/2 version up instead of a full Ver 2 baffles me a little. Then it made some sense since a "Heavy Dropcloth" version has been discussed, within the official 3A Forum, together with Mr Woods and everyone of us (or maybe just myself) are bracing ourselves for a quick succession of Dropcloths sale in the very near future with Heavy making entrance. 16 months had passed since and no more Dropcloths... not even an alternate colorway for Ver 1.5 were even seen except for the disastrous multiple GID versions dropped randomly within the same Peaceday sale in that 2012 November day.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel Golden Dolphin

"Golden Dolphin is Robbie Grove. And the story goes that Robbie befriend a talking "Squeak!" Dolphin and they played for hours. While they played, the Dolphin explained what he was and the mission he was on. And with a wink, the Dolphin offered to impart the GOLDEN WORD for a SMALL FEE. The GOLDEN WORD can open any door and command any man, or so the Dolphin said.
Robbie thought the FEE too creepy. So he pulled the Dolphin head right off!"

ThreeA Ashley Wood Popbot Action Portable Tomorrow King Heavy SOH

Baby SOH was conceived on Bambalandstore on 28 Jul 2012 and a 3 pack was offered that also include Kato (Grey) and Nasu (Black). Thought I just wanted a 1/12 Soh since I have the 1/6 version hence the term "Baby SOH". It finally got into my grubby hands some 183 days later ( 1 Feb 2013).
Heavy TK SOH is very special to me as the 1/6 version was the very first 3A figure I owned. I like it enough to continue pursuing this brand of action figures (and robots).
Here, I have swapped out the original SOH's head with that of a red haired TK Yellow Hornet. After a few hairsculpts, I still prefer the OG classic hairstyle. And the red haired TK fits perfectly to SOH's red garb.

ThreeA Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel Inky Tommy Mission Underwater Kitbash

Found a set of very old DML UDT Diver Stan's rebreather and pair of flippers (yes, da FLIPPERS!) while I was clearing my drawer for some space. Thought it would be fun to put it onto a 3A figure. Inky came to mind immediately given his all black outlook, just like a diver in his full rubber suit.
