3A Ashley Wood Adventure Kartel - Bleak Mission

First and only order from Bambasia arrives the same time as those who ordered from Bambalandstore. Well, Bleak is Tommy Mission father based on the Adventure Kartel Universe that Ashley Wood had created. Hence his sculpt is suppose to represent a 40s, moody, nonchalant, grumpy look. I have replaced Custard, the Labrador with a German Shepherd from DML HK Police Dog Handler. Strictly so because of the material used for Custard.

 

Some observation for Bleak :
1. The stubble is only paint effect. Would be good if flock material was used to add more realism. But then, realism isn't what AK is all about. Hence I can accept that.
2. Gloved hands sculpt isn't exactly AK-ished like. Close but not as believable.
3. Bleak is with boots now, that effectively cancel out a whole range of articulations on the ankle and limit a few natural pose. But that is the design of the character. I probably need to find a pair of cloth pleather boots for Bleak sometime down the road. Should be easy to get a pair from DiD since it should be similar to US WW2 Paratroopers Corcoran boots
4. The jacket is the crowning jewel of the piece, superb to say the least. I'll probably remove the velcro pieces sometime later, it just spoiled the entire beauty of the whole piece.
5. Revolver is another great looking piece. Simple yet menacing.
6. Polystone material for Custard, the Labrador... it is very fragile material especially in thin area like the legs. Better keep it in the box protected by sponge. I don't trust my own clumsy fingers...

Overall, Bleak is a nice piece and is one of my Favorite AK figure now. If only the sculpt/shape is less similar to Tommy. But then again, they are father n son, similarities in look probably is genetic... can't complain much there.
