Dragon Neo body - Ankle upgrade

Seems like a nude figure today are price tagged at $30 and above each. Even the most basic nude body is now asking for this price. Being a collector of 1:6 scale figure since yr 2000, I have accumulated a fair bit of older (but usable) DML nude bodies. But some work need to be done on them in order to make them more pose-able. One big peeve for me on DML's body is the lack of ankle articulation. So here I am cutting, drilling, sanding & gluing to give the venerable figure this deserving feature. Just a few simple steps : STEP 1 - Severe the ankles! (Brutal but necessary) STEP 2 - Prep. the feet for new ankles Cut away unnecessary plastic and clean the residue. Use a pin vice to create a hole in the middle of the feet (not shown). Apply a little glue and insert the socket into the feet. Make sure transient fit is achieved. Noticed the ball comes in original plastic shank (right feet) and I have removed it and insert a metal screw instead. When creating moving portion, durability is the key. STEP 3 - Refitting Again, strength is emphasized here. Epoxy putty wrapping up the area to give additional strength. I do not want to pose my figure halfway and the ankle came lose. Leave the putty 24hrs to cure. After that, they are as hard as rock. STEP 4 - Trial pose Assemble the "severed" parts back together again. For a start it stand real well and steady. Now for some extreme posing... stood well once again. Conclusion Modification successful!
