Medicom Stylish Collection - Lupin the 3rd : Pycal the Magician

Pycal first appear in the original television anime adaptation first series of Lupin the 3rd, Episode 2 "The Man They Called a Magician" in Oct 31, 1971. In this episode, Pycal perish in flames. But he came back seemingly alive in a dedicated Original Video Animation (OVA) in Apr 03 2002. in Recognition of the 30th anniversary of the manga's first television anime adaptation.
In the original TV series, Pycal wore a white suit with geen innershirt and a white tie. When he returned in 2002, he had a Lavendar coloured suit with a darker shade of purple innershirt and a white tie.
This figure of Pycal from Medicom were released in May 22 2000, it's design is hence per the OG TV series which is personally preferred.

Started collecting Medicom's 1/6 Lupin the 3rd figure since mid of 2005 and the first figure that kick started it all was Fujiko Mine in her stealth black outfit with a walter PPK pistol. For the next 4 years in 2009, the genre had grown to 18 figures. There are quite a few more to go and one of them that I really wanted to add another is Pycal. But there is no specific urgency to do so. Prices of these figures has remain relatively low and affordable.
The collection stayed dormant until something snap in my mind that it is time to get ol'Pycal into the fray. That was Sep 2024 - some 15 years later. Talking about how time flies. It is getting a bit scary just to think about it.

Got Pycal from eBay, which I have not use for years. Dug up and dusted my userID and password, log in, place a bid and won. Smooth as silk. Needless to say, it is a used figure. Hardly can find a new and sealed set. Price is between reasonable and a teeny bit high. USD65.4 shipped.

Pycal suit had yellowed after all these years and is creamed coloured now. Nonetheless very happy to finally have him amongst the gang.

Not going through all the categories of review as it had been said enough for this type of figure. They are all the same - bad / impossible poseability, literally cannot stand on its own, lose joints and the list goes on. Forget it if you want to display it without a figure stand.
The figure sells on nostalgia and funky sculpt - head, hair, hands.
There are literally no other Lupin the 3rd figure type that has a range as wide as this Medicom 1/6 scale. We are comparing with S.H.Figuarts, Gachapons, Candy toys.

Out of 19 figures, 6 are Lupin himself in various guises. 3x Fujiko. Pycal seem a need to give more diversity of characters.
Is this recommended? Not for everyone but a niche group of collectors. In my opinion, such figures are either you love it or loath it. The looney headsculpt and the equally looney character background draws me into this genre. Are you like me?
