Sideshow Toys 1/6 Scale Star Wars Lando Calrissian in Skiff Guard Disguise

Sideshow announced the release of a sixth scale Lando Calrissian in Skiff Guard Disguise at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) in Jul 2018. I was both excited and "disappointed".

There is no need for further explanation on the excited part. I am a big fan of this character in this outfit. Already plotting to buy the Hasbro SAGA version, the only version in 1/6 scale back then, but even that one is as rare and hard to get. Sideshow's version look zillion times better. The images (at SDCC) look so good that there is no worry if HT gonna release one down the road as this one has already checked all my boxes.

There are 2 disappointments.
1. Sideshow's prices has gone all the way north till the tip. The products are good but not that new pricing good. I fend off buying Luke Snowspeeder gear. Local shops are charging like S$450 for one. If Lando will be available here, it could hover in this price range. IF HT is making one, it should be about S$300-ish. The cross continental price gap is easy to see there.
2. Singapore's Sideshow toys distributor is no longer bringing in their products for a while now. There are literally no newer Sideshow products in SG market. If I want to buy this, and I do want to, I need to find someone who is willing to bring this in and charging a premium. A collecting buddy told me to contact an entity whom he say has "taken over distributorship" of Sideshow toys. Done that and after a couple of messages (via facebook), the guys stop responding. Seem I have exhausted all options. Wait! How about doing it myself at Sideshow Site directly?? Come back to that later.

And so on top of the 2 disappointment, there is 1 regret that I missed out on Dengar, a figure I really really wanted as well. But with the molded top "turban", it just missed perfection right there. Half knowing nobody else would do another sixth scale Dengar anytime soon, I should have done something about it back then. The "almost perfect" but "not yet perfect" figure had me procrastinating until all availability dries up. Now I can only suck my thumb.
Lesson learnt there I'm almost going down that same road with this guy. The only difference is that this Lando is perfect - to me. With all options exhausted, I took a leapt of faith and put down my order with Sideshow directly. The shipping cost me about $40 (still much cheaper than some eBay sellers charging) and the whole figure set me back $375+ in total. Lando arrives to my humble abode in March 2021.
Sideshow Lando Skiff Guard Disguise is now my most expensive 1/6 figure till date. The previous record had held its top placing for 15 years (since 2006). Medicom Rider X I got from eBay and totalled $368. And I have a feeling that new record could be broken quicker than I thought.

This time I'm not gonna run through the categories. Obviously this figure will get very high score from me - mostly bias views of course. So better keep this to myself. Read that the helmet face piece is mounted too high up. Peeps are reworking it to bring it down a little so as to be more "movie accurate". I'm happy with how it is stock. And not forgetting the set came with a separate headsculpt of Lando without the helmet.

Perhaps I have grown somewhat addicted to Sideshow site and seen visiting it almost daily. C-3PO is ordered and will pend for it's shipment. can't wait!
Here is also hoping for a re-issue of Dengar, Zuckuss and maybe 4-LOM.
Oh yes, for once there is no "from Wookieepedia" to kick start a Star Wars posting. If a strong incline of dose needed, can refer back to the posting of this same figure - but in a form of 1/12 Black Series Lando Skiff.
