US Navy SEAL Commander Team 8 VBSS

A redux once again of an old kitbash. Previously posted him up at Red6 HERE but since I gotten a new camera, time to take some update picts. Haven't touch him since it's completion on mid of 2008. One of my most satisfying kitbash and it has stayed proudly displayed at the front of my display cabinet coming to it's 6th year. The inspiration for this kitbash came from a Hot Toys exclusive to the Japanese first installment of SpecFigures Mook. Till today, I still doesn't know how to order that. Anyway, I didn't get that piece and had always wanted one. Decided to kitbash my own.

I got the SEAL Team Commander skull cap helmet separately and it came originally with green shell (it was from the mass release of Hot Toys VBSS SEAL Commander Team 5 set). Painted the green part white first before applying the red coat. It is important to apply a "primer" to a duller original paint before putting on the lighter more vibrant color.
The other important part, the tac vest, was also gotten separately from auctions sites and the rest were probably from my spare box. The outcome of the kitbash was really appealing and I've always love some red on a figure. Little red but gave so much character. Perfecto.
And I think it is high time to have some parts upgrade for him. The boots will have to come first.

And here is the real McCoy. Headset looks a little different though but I'm really happy with my own kitbash. No tear drops for this.
