I think the concept is brilliant and I have my imagination on Miyu strolling casually down the street with the squidy tentacles dancing around her thighs. Almost perfect. And a squid could be lightish brown or pinkish. Just sweetness through and through.
157 days later in late May 2014, got Squidy Miyu in hand. And why wasn't I surprise? Grey Squid suit. So disappointing. Miyu is packed in a blister card. Decide to free her up nevertheless.
Squidy Miyu came with a spare right hand and also a set of spare wrist pegs. That's all she has. At US$110 (before 3AA 15% discount). it is consider expensive to me. Figure like this should not cost more than US$90 really.
My squid suit got a slightly off centered eyes. Not a problem for me as I like a little off-conventional stuffs in such figures. And I may be contradicting myself for lamenting on the not-so-realistic grey suit. Still prefer pinkish or light brownish... heck even light blue is good. Grey is such a dull color.
Another disappointment is that I was hoping to have wires in the tentacles so that I can curl it at the edge to give squidy a more lively posture ie mimicking bouncing tentacles while strolling. I thought I can insert wires into the tentacles. Should be a relatively easy job. But I need to start doing it ;)
Overall, I had some hopes and expectations for Squidy Miyu. Sad to say that most never gets realized. However, the figure turned out to be exactly how the sketch looks like and that is one plus point. At least I don't pay for A and get a B or worse, a C.
Still a good toy and I'll have a place in the display cabinet for her.
