ThreeA Ashley Wood WWR Peaceday Dropcloth v1.5

After about 3 years when the first Peaceday Dropcloth were first made available (End Dec 2009), Ashley Wood finally drafted on a new Dropcloth upgrade design and version it "1.5" and was made available for order in Bambalandstore on 14 Nov 2012. The curiosity on why have a 1/2 version up instead of a full Ver 2 baffles me a little. Then it made some sense since a "Heavy Dropcloth" version has been discussed, within the official 3A Forum, together with Mr Woods and everyone of us (or maybe just myself) are bracing ourselves for a quick succession of Dropcloths sale in the very near future with Heavy making entrance. 16 months had passed since and no more Dropcloths... not even an alternate colorway for Ver 1.5 were even seen except for the disastrous multiple GID versions dropped randomly within the same Peaceday sale in that 2012 November day.

Peaceday Dropcloth v1.5 was a standard Bambalandstore sale item during it's sale day. EMGY was the special emo drop version together with the multiple GID versions. Personally I like the pink best and had no problem putting it into my cart and make payment almost immediately after it start appearing within the sale site. It took 195 days from sale to delivery and it arrives in the last days of May 2013.

Design - 4 / 5
General sentiments of this version wasn't as favorable comparing to the OG version but personally, I feel ver1.5 is a vast improvement from the earlier one in terms of proportions and multi-joints.
Collar seem unnecessary but however, it adds a sense of bulk to the overall design aesthetic. The same goes to the twin arm-shield.
As an overall look and feel comparing both versions, v1.5 does looks to be "heavier" but not to the extend of owning the title of "Heavy Dropcloth" if you get what I meant. Really hope to have continuity to Dropcloth in terms of design enhancement or alternatives. Time will tell.

Articulation - 4 / 5
Scoring for robot articulation isn't as direct as comparing to a standard 1/6 human figure. The score here is based on how much it had improved comparing to OG version and also of robots design in this genre.
There is nothing much to mentioned about individual fingers articulation since this is one of 3A's trademark already and is an expected feature in most, if not all, of their robot design.
Double elbow joint is an improvement from the previous design and this feature actually provide this robot with a better range of poseability. Same goes to the jointed feet.
Pan head is now perched higher so that it now can actually "look down" and up in a better defined manner. Purist will argue that Dropcloth doesn't "see" per se but they have sensor .... but I'm not going there LOL!
The rest of the points are quite standard unless I missed out anything. But the listed points are some of the valued ones.

Painting - 3.5 / 5
No breakthrough in painting techniques here. 3A does tried it on EMGY's shield (as they claimed) but were chastised by the crowd on it looking more like camouflage than rust. Seemingly so but is believable as rust can occur in various manner. Perhaps it need time to be digested but I still prefer to old school rust that 3A has done and replicated many times before.
The dirt wash seem to have missed out some parts on the Dropcloth, mainly within the nook and crevices. That revealed the virgin pink and it is as bright as seen on the Barbie aisle. You can see in the 3rd picture within the elbow joint. It is factory painted, what do I expect actually?

Accessories - 4.5 / 5
It could easily be a full score but I dunno... I have never gotten full score in school before so I don't think anything else deserved it since I don't LOL!! It is a thing about myself.
A 4.5 is as good as a 5 in my book. The Dropcloth came with a plethora of weapons. Cleaver, twin pistols, short barreled pump gun and finally, a Sub Machine Gun.
3A hit all the right buttons here.

Peaceday colorway is special to me because the number "24" is special to me. I'm glad that pink is it's representation. Pink signifies a softer stance but when applied to rusty mechanics, they become berserk and hell bound. I like how this perception is being conceptualize into the Peaceday colorway.
It is just unfortunate that Peaceday only has Dropcloths and Squares for representation. Hope more bots design will join the Peaceday ranks in the future.
