Medicom 1/6 Kamen Rider Shocker Sasori Otoko (さそり男)
From Kamen Rider Wiki :
Scorpion Man (さそり男 Sasori Otoko?, 3, 13, Rider vs Shocker, Super Hero Taisen) (a.k.a. Scorpion Human (さそり人間 Sasori Ningen?)) - A scorpion monster, originally known as Goro Hayase (an old friend of Takeshi Hongo) who uses his old identity to approach and attack Hongo. He controls an army of robotic scorpions that release corrosive acid. Has the ability to burrow underground and uses his pincer as a weapon. Destroyed by Kamen Rider #1's Rider Scissors. Monster, Scorpion Man
He was later resurrected by Shocker as part of the Revived Kaijin Army and faced Kamen Rider #1 again, but Hongo fought without hesitation and easily beat him in their second battle. He was destroyed afterwards by the detonation of Tokageron's special bomb. Tokageron and the Big Monster Army Scorpion Man also made a brief return appearance in the monster army of the Kamen Rider vs. Shocker movie, but did not actually have an active participation there.
This was a Hyper Hobby magazine mail away exclusive but I couldn't locate the year it was released. Not sure elsewhere but in Singapore, many collectors doesn't seem to favor collecting baddies from the Kamen Rider franchise. I'm one of those handful who loves alien/monster sculpted 1/6 figures and these Kaijins are right up my alley. And they are REALLY hard to acquire most being some sort of exclusives and asking for astronomical prices in the secondary market when available.
Sasori Otoko has standard articulations. Head pose really well as well as the hands. However, the legs were kind of jammed at the groin articulation. Tried to swing the legs up or back, it just won't budge. Dare not use brute force for it will definitely break. Better leave it as it is for now.
The paint job on the head and hands are area I would like to complement Medicom for doing a great job. Matte red was used and I can tell a wash was applied followed by subtle dry brushing. Details were brought out that way.
Vest is made with Pleather material and I fear for it's longevity which probably could last 2 years or so.
Headsculpt looking amazing but I do really prefer the earlier RAH version, looks more menacing. Attach a picture here for reference :
Got the pict at a random web search. I don't own this version but the sculpt is amazing ya agree?
And lastly, the cover of the packaging. Simple, straightforward and crisp. I like it.
