Hasbro Star Wars 3.75" The Vintage Collection VC01 Dengar

The mighty bounty hunter, hand picked by Sith Lord Darth Vader as one of the 6 best of the best to stand at the bridge of the Empire's flag ship, The Executor, taking on an assignment to capture the Millennium Falcon. Dengar was his name and Dengar, so mighty and massive that many are afraid to bring him back due to his awesomeness. Hence a large amount of Dengars remained on the pegs of departmental store and he soon earned another name - Peg Warmer.
What that was sold in the US for around a mere US$6, we are selling them at S$19.9 a pop. Too expensive for such a little figure (slightly taller than a AA size battery). Can't really blame the local collectors to be a little bit more selective.
I waited and waited for the price to dropped to S$12.5 and I still think it is too expensive. Finally Takashimaya had it's once a year "Crazy Toy Sale" and Dengar was further degraded to S$8 a piece. Now my wallet is willing.

Credit has to be given to Hasbro for developing The Vintage Collection line of figures. Though most of the characters were previously released under a different line, the figures from this line has all the new designs and the added articulations. Dengar is a great figure and has a respectable poseability as pictures here demonstrates.
The excellent life like face sculpting is a point worth mentioning. The face is like half the size of a 5 cents coin and the sculptor can managed to get so much details in and it gave the character a tough guy no nonsense look - which Dengar is suppose to be. The sculpt even manage to look like Morris Bush, the British actor who portray Dengar in The Empire Strikes Back.
Armor sculpting are top notched too. Pistol goes into the molded pouch seamlessly. Hand holds pistol and blaster rifle perfectly. Groin Armor piece is removable and so is the backpack. Head is on a ball and socket mechanism and Dengar can position his head naturally in any pose given.
The one and only con I can find is that he can't bring his legs closer together and he stand with legs ajar too much that it isn't as natural. Not a deal breaker at the price I paid for.

Dengar is an excellent figure though the character design wasn't an A-Star one like Boba Fett is, he has his little charm. And this little figure are sculpted faithfully to it's original design.
Need to hunt down a Boba Fett in due time and eventually, all 6 bounty hunters. But I'm not sure I want 4-Lom though.
