Hot Toys Fire Fighter Ver 2.0 - Trainee

One of my all time favorite figure are none other than Hot Toy's (HT) Fire Fighter. This is the 2nd release after Version 1 which feature a Caucasian and an African American. It was so rare that it will probably cost you an arm or a leg to get 1. I missed it and regretted it badly. When HT made Ver 2 available, it was quite a no brainer. Better body, newer gear (though it looks quite identical to Ver 1) and new combination. Ver 2 was probably inspired by the movie "Ladder 49" starring Joaquim Phoenix and John Travolta. Little wonder that this Trainee's sculpt look a little like Phoenix.
We need more civilian organization based figure in the 1:6 world. Policemen were aptly represented and I think it is about time to give others a chance. I really hope to have Construction workers, Postal Service workers ie collaboration with Fedex or UPS etc, Medical workers.
Only when doing this photoshoot that I realize the nice detail on the backflip of his helmet. Exquisitely done.
I wonder if there is a Ver 3 as the 1:6 technology has comes a very long way. Probably unlikely as I noticed this one doesn't sell as well as Ver 1 does. If you troll eBay or other online sites, it is easy to still find these fine figures on sale and the price is about retail price then. Not a lot of inflation here.
Saturday Toys release a complimentary set of Beige suit when these were released back then. For the die hard, they will get 2 sets and deck them out in the 2 different suits. But the set has become very rare after all these years and if you see it floating around and in an ok price, get it.
