Because he was meant to be Shocker’s greatest altered human, Kamen Rider 1's capabilities are far greater than a normal man. He has the ability to hear at distances up to 4 kilometers away. He can break a meter thick tree trunk or a metal rod 10 cm thick with his Rider Chop. His Rider Kick has enough power to bend steel supports of buildings. Even when he wasn't fully transformed, this form was strong enough to withstand a 50 thousand volt electric shock.

Unlike in his later forms, Takeshi can't transform automatically in this form, needing external wind to jump start the Typhoon's turbine and give him access to his suit and most of his fighting strength. That wind is generally generated by riding his bike, but it also can come from other sources, like an explosion that pushes hot wind towards the Typhoon belt. It is thinkable that becoming Kamen Rider 1 has granted him a degree of immortality and immunity to organic diseases, viruses, bacteria and poison due to becoming a cybernetic human.

Ultrasensitive Antenna: Sense the presence of enemies and incoming attacks
Cat's Eye: Allows infrared night vision
Signal O: A brainwave transmission device that can detect other cyborgs
Crusher: The face plate that can break chains
Artificial Lungs: Can recycle oxygen for two hours
Pulmonary Converter: Catches wind power to convert it to energy, also acts as a radiator
Power Converter: Capsules on the belt that store energy
Typhoon: Transformation belt which is an anemometer which measures the Rider's energy
Artificial Muscle: Gives the Rider the strength to jump like a giant grasshopper
Jump Shoes: The soles are elastic-like springs.

This version of Kamen Rider Ichigo is most commonly referred to as "Kamen Rider Old No.1 (旧一号) which is the version first appear on the inaugural TV series premiering on 3-Apr-1971 until Episode 53 on 1-Apr-1972. Together with the "sidekick" Cyclone bike formed a formidable pair.
The version showed is a S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou (真骨雕) model which boast an improved sculpting of the character of it's size and build and with improved articulations.
It was first made available as Tamashii Nation 2022 exclusives which see it's secondary market price soar 2 folds at least. Premium Bandai latter made it available for pre-order on Nov 2022 with the product shipped 6 months later in May 2023. Prices tuned down after that. I wasn't too much into SHF/SKC then and missed this 2nd chance. It is what it is.

Matter of time this figure will be in my collection but hate to pay anything more than retail price for it. Held on for the longest of time before accepting its prices may not be coming down any much more in this near future. And with the arrival of SHF Cyclone bike, from Carousell.my, an invisible hand pushes me to plunge in head first for one. Paid about $118 shipped from Amazon.JP. Its about there for this period.
Without a rider, the Cyclone is just but another fancy looking motorbike.Together with Kamen Rider Ichigo, the couple is complete.

The first time SKC Ichigo was mounted onto Cyclone... Geez, the bike seem a little underscale isn't it. At some angle it look right. While in another, bike shrinked. Nevertheless, I feel it is indeed smaller. Some collector say this Cyclone is meant for the older S.H.Figuarts (SHF) Old Ichigo, which is more lanky with a skinnier stature which will fit right in scale. It will do for now.

Moving on to scrutiny of each category.
There are actually 2 products - SKC Kamen Rider Old Ichigo & SHF Cyclone Motorbike - published in this one Blog entry. Only the former will be going through each Category breakdown analysis with score.

DESIGN - 3/5
I don't know how the designer decides which shoulder design to employ for a figure. The shoulder design for this figure have the worse of the existing 3 types I know of. SKC V3 has the same shoulder design while SKC New Ichigo & Nigo has another design. SKC Amazon has the 3rd kind and is my most preferred.
while posing the arms, a big gap can occur at the shouder like it has been slashed deeply splitting it wide open. Don't see how better this design can be over the other 2. To me, just a really bad design.
But a well thought gesture for the set to include a cut out bottom blouse replaceable piece to allow higher leg raise for a crouching bike-riding pose allows better posing range. Quite strange this point should go into categories like "Articulation" or "Accessories"... but I think it is a thought on design comes beforehand. On hindsight, if that part of the blouse used soft silicon plastic, wouldn't it work too?
Next on the "soft good" scarf that is touted as poseable. Yes it does enable posing. If the scarf is a little narrower and a tad more longer, it will be perfect. Wire inside is too stiff for my liking. While it enable fiddling on how you want to "flow" the scarf, I am unable to have it pose in a natural flowing way. Threads are also coming lose on sides of the scarf. Probably with more meddling of it, wear and tear will happen. I'd really rather prefer the molded ones.
End of the day, it all comes together nicely. Figure itself is quite impressive. There are also efforts to produce this as close to the actual props as possible. Whites at the cut edges of the gloves and boots are little details that impresses.

SCULPTING - 5/5
"Toys" like this are made with adult collectors in mind. Children growing up watching this Kamen Rider show are now at least in their 50s. Quality of sculpting to bring the figure as close to the original costume as possible is no longer a priviledge, it is now priority.
This SKC Kamen Rider Ichigo does not disappoint. Everything is to expectation.
Special mention the body "armour" pieces comes with texture. Not some flat smooth pieces slap onto the suit. Here is where such extra bits of sculpting are appreciated.

PAINTING - 4.5/5
Not much paint works to discuss here. Most of the painting is on the belt where care, or the lack of, can be seen.
Very glad to announce care and detail were given when applying paint to the belt. Clasp were painted silver with good precision and no "bleeding". Special mention for those tiny red dots in and around the belt where its perimeter rings were all painted silver. Them rings are so narrow but the silver paint on them were executed almost perfectly. No silver paint bleeded onto the red dots vice-versa. Exqisitely done sum it perfectly.
No paint on the chest armour, gloves and boots but as mentioned earlier, white (or whitish) paint are added at cut-edges of the gloves and boots. Another attention to detail.
Mouth piece on the helmet was painted a subtle metallic cyan that gleam against light.
Black suit looks unpainted and in original black plastic. However, I do believe an application of semi-gloss top coat were given.

ARTICULATION - 4.5/5
This figure has all the articulation points to make great poses. It is also important to have it mounting on the Cyclone in a natural pose, which it does.
If the Cyclone will be slighly bigger, it will look better. I have not use the bottom blouse replaceable part for a higher leg bend but I have no doubt it will make riding pose possible.
No special shout out in this category when everything is within expectation.

ACCESSORIES - 4/5
Kamen Rider Ichigo does not carry weapons, he fights with his fist and legs ie Rider Punch! and Rider Kick!
Hence the set only comes with another 4 extra pairs of different gestures hands for different poses. A lower torso piece as mentioned earlier, and also a pair of spare Antennae - which is a staple for all SKC Riders with antennae. It is a nice thought to have spare antennae when we all know when something dropped to the floor, it seem the floor will swallow up the parts and it will never be found again.
Only nit-picking if more hands should be included.
No frills no thrills.

OVERALL - 4/5
It has to be the best 1/12 scale representation of Kamen Rider Old Ichigo till date. Proportion and stature are well executed with size that looks exactly like a human shrinked 12x. Comparing to the old SHF Riders, this figure is true to its series 真骨雕 - literally translated as "Real Bone Sculpting". It is a toy fit for the adult with high expectation.
Shoulder design is the only blemishes here. If this employ SKC New Ichigo/Nigo or SKC Amazon shoulder design, it will get a full score.

LAST WORDS
This guy started it all in 1971 and the Kamen Rider franchise is very much alive till this day, 53 years on. In toy realm, is this the ultimate 1/12 to be had or there are still room for advance. Definitely a foreseeble uptick will be one that comes with leather suit on an articulated body. It has already happened with Ultraman 1/12 figures and to some 1/12 Military themed figures. I feel it is a matter of time KR will get this treatment.
But it is mind boggling to imagine a leathery material worn on tiny 1/12 body. How will it look? Can it look as natural as this SKC version? Will articulation be compromise? Designers will have to crack their brain to bring this series to the next level.
For now, I am satisfy with this SKC version. Hope another Cyclone be made to correct the size... but what will I do with the exising one? Dillema.
At this time of publication, there is still no news for a SKC Kamen Rider Old No.2 Nigo. Looking forward to adding him into the family although I have the old S.H.Figuarts version that comes with the Modified Cyclone.
