Hasbro Star Wars 3.75" SAGA Legends Biker Scout 77-07

It took me awhile to realize how awesome these 3.75” figurines are and the amount of points of articulations are some we could never have imagine a few years back without paying a premium for. Hasbro / Kenner has come a long way since they first re-start their 3.75” Star Wars basic figures franchise with EP1 (The Phantom Menace) back in late 1999.
The evolution of the Biker Scout has come a long way since we see it on card again on Power of the Jedi (POTJ) green card series (2000-2002). Here in this entry is the latest incarnation of a SAGA Legends 77-07 Biker Scout variation which essentially is the same as the version from The Vintage SAGAcollection’s Biker released in 2006.
I don’t know how it comes about but people start calling them “Scout Trooper”. Why take the excitement away from the guy by giving him such a bland, subdued name? Biker Scout sound more badass. It’s Biker Scout for me from day 1 and it will remain as is regardless of what Mr Lucas wanted to call him later on.

The added articulations enable the little figurine to strike more natural poses and increase the playability. The sculpting is one of the best, if not the best, 3.75” Biker Scout you can find out there. The head is of a ball and socket design which gave it countless angles possibility. A slightly different angle tilt of the head can give a different vibe and the imagination is limitless on what the scout is up to (searching for rebel scums obviously).
The figure’s only accessory is his blaster pistol. I searched the WWW a little but couldn’t find a name / model for the blaster. It is mostly just termed “Biker Scout Blaster”.

I have packed up my Biker Scout squad back in Dec 2011 for house shifting and finally unpack them a few days back. 9+ months in storage made the PVC part turned yellow. All 9 of them had turned yellowish on the chest armor piece. I’d have to restore them and bring the white back. So took out my Tamiya Gloss White paint and made a few coat on each trooper’s armor. Ensure it is dried thoroughly (gloss paint usually take a much longer time to cure vs matte ones), seal it with clear gloss. With this painted coat, it will never turn yellow again. I’m pretty happy with the outcome.

Biker Scout together with Sandtrooper are my favorite character’s design in the Star Wars universe. Still waiting for sideshow to release a high quality 1/6 Biker Scout. Wonder what took them so long.
